Cravings

Definition: Craving - an intense desire for some particular thing inducing a level of satisfaction that is difficult to fulfil.

All of us have particular food favourites, tastes and texture sensations that we really enjoy.  Unfortunately some of us take it to extremes - that one chocolate that ends up as a box, a single biscuit that becomes a packet, half a baguette that ends up as two, or even three!

AND THEN WE FEEL GUILTY!! and this strange relationship we have with food comes into play.  Because we feel guilty we need to comfort ourselves and we end up eating more of the food that is causing the guilt in the first place, and then we feel guilty again....

HYPNO_HEALTH will stop these food cravings IMMEDIATELY!

Aversion Hypnotherapy

The goal of Aversion Hypnotherapy is to decrease or eliminate undesirable cravings. Under hypnosis, a strong feeling of dislike or disgust  is paired with the undesirable craving e.g. eating chocolate could be associated with unpleasant images, tastes, textures and/or smells.

To use the example of chocolate. The result of this therapy will be to make the sight, smell and
taste of chocolate so unpleasant to the client that they are no longer interested in chocolate, chocolate flavoured and chocolate coated foods.

This form of therapy is incredibly successful with many different types of food cravings, sweet or savoury and will has the same positive achievement with drinks such as colas etc.

Aversion Hypnotherapy can also be successfully used with other conditions including alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and smoking, pathological gambling and sexual problems. Although with these conditions, Aversion Hypnotherapy is more commonly used as part of a more extensive programme of therapy.

Examples of food cravings

Chocolate:  There are more than 350 chemicals in chocolate.  Some of these are believed to cause allergic reactions.  Some scientists believe that phenylethylamine and theobromine could cause changes in moods.  Phenylethylamine causes blood pressure and blood sugar to rise.  Chocolate is reported to cause headache, obesity, rectal itching, heart burn and emotional problems like irritability, confusion, anger and depression.

Crisps:  Half of UK children "drink" almost five litres of cooking oil every year as a result of their pack-a-day crisp habit, experts warn.
Acrylamide is a dangerous chemical present in foods such as french fries and crisps.  Studies have shown that acrylamide causes cancer in lab mice and rats.

Cola:  Colas, and many other popular soft drinks contain caffeine. Caffeine is a mildly addictive stimulant drug that will keep consumers coming back for more.
Research has shown that a dose of caffeine delivered in a single can of soft drink is sufficient to produce mood and behavioural effects: Source: Dr. Rowland Griffiths in Eileen O'Conner's missive  'A sip into dangerous territory'.
